Praiano

Praiano is a picturesque town located between Positano and Conca dei Marini. Today is not so famous as a touristic resort, but in the Maritime Republics’ age the little town of Praiano was the summer residence of the doges of Amalfi. Praiano is considered the pearl of the Amalfi Coast, with the delightful beach of Marina di Praia, reached along the road hewn out of the rock. Here, you will see the Tower, which was the sighting point to check the Saracen Pirates arriving. Among the typical attractions of Praiano there are the steps and the most suggestive panoramic points are reachable only on foot. The amazing sea and the crystal clear water can be admired everywhere, and you cannot miss Vettica Maggiore with Cala della Gavitella beach which is exposed to the sun from sunrise till sunset (not common on the Amalfi Coast’s Beaches). From here you can enjoy the breathtaking view of Capri and Positano and the natural beauties inside a grotto called “ Fontana dell’altare”. Surely you have to visit the lovely beaches reachable only by boat and don’t forget to visit the Africana Grottoes and Suppraiano!
